I’m considering getting migraine surgery, since I get a migraine almost every day without any kind of treatment.
I have tried Imitrex and the triptans, and I have to take a large dose for it to work.
I have tried muscle relaxants, and they work if I take enough to knock out a horse.
I have tried a number of anti-epileptic medications, and they did not work.
I finally tried Botox, and it works, but I have only ever gotten injections from cosmetic places, and never from a neurologist. Most of my pain is in the occipital nerve area, so the “cosmetic” injections of Botox don’t help 100%. I am finally getting all the injections sometime soon, but it has to pass through my insurance (sigh).
I am currently on a beta-blocker and a tricyclic antidepressant. With the Botox, they are helping a little bit, but it’s only been 5 days.
Has anyone gotten the surgery for migraines, and how did it work for you?

there’s a surgery for migraines. I didn’t know. I’ve been suffering for nearly 7-8 years now. :(
